What are the main responsibilities of a CAF Board Member?

The CAF board is transitioning from working board to a governing board. This means their main responsibilities include:

  • Fiduciary responsibility

  • Hiring, supporting, and evaluating staff

  • Guidance and strategy for the organization (eg the big picture of the strategic plan)

  • Organizational health and governance (eg adherence to the Bylaws).

What is the time commitment?
Board members are expected to serve for a two-year Board Term, attend quarterly in-person board meetings, and actively participate in one to two committees and/or task forces of the board at approximately 5-10 hours/month.
