Pledge to End Clinic Harassment
For the past six years, we at the Carolina Abortion Fund have run 40 Days for CAF, an opportunity to show up for abortion access and also spotlight and counter the harm that protests like 40 Days for Life do to clinics and patients. “40 Days for Life” draws crowds to stand outside of clinics in unprecedented numbers. Patients are forced to navigate through hostile groups to try and access the procedure they came for. While protestors are an unfortunate regular reality for many clinics, 40 Days for Life often triples their numbers, encouraging heightened harassment and intimidation. This year, in a post-Dobbs world–we expect their numbers to soar even higher. So how do we fight back? The core mechanism is simple: you have the opportunity to Pledge a Protestor (or make a one-time donation!) to ensure that even if anti-choice protestors show up outside of clinics, their very presence will be funding abortion care.
This year, we’re thrilled to be partnering with some of our sibling funds in Virginia in service of expanding our network of care and underscoring how vital our collaboration is in the wake of Dobbs. Welcome to 40 Days for Funds!
From September 27th to November 5th, we will track donations to this campaign, and we will share the results weekly.
How Does It Work?
The general mechanisms of participation remain unchanged from years past.
Fill out the FORM HERE to pledge.
On the form, you can register and set your donation pledge amount "per protester" or "per day" - you can also put a cap on your donation.
Follow Carolina Abortion Fund on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up to date on what's happening at these clinics, connect with the escorts, and see the running totals of the number of antis at these clinics. During the Week of November 5th, you will receive an email from us with your pledge information and the final amount due based on the amount you pledged toward 40 Days for Funds. You can pay via the email link or a mailed check.
